Windows 7 day an exclusive, in-depth one-day workshop for Getting Started on Windows 7 was arranged by Pune User Group today on April 18, 2009. Venue was quite impressive and far away from daily pune traffic. The venue, CapGemini’s campus at talwade, was really an awesome place.
Although workshop started little late, covered many areas to get familiar with Windows 7 as an operating system. I can just say “Thanks PUG for arranging this great one day workshop on Windows 7 Beta1”.
Great thanks to Aviraj, who covered lots of details on Windows 7 Virtualization & Deployment. I remembered my old days when I was used to take Ghost images from one PC to another. The ghost image file was used to be in GB and I had to create many CD’s to fit one Ghost Image. Now I think with VHD feature introduced in Windows 7 life will become much more easier.
Prior to this session Abhishek Pradhan from Symantec covered another exciting session on topics like Applocker , Bitlocker, Branch Caching, Direct Access and UAC. Abhishek did a very good job at keeping us interested and involved with the demonstrations.
However morning session taken by Dev Chaudhari was little disappointing ( Sorry Dev! ). I felt this session could have become much more exciting if some detailed demonstration and difference between Vista and Windows 7 could have been highlighted.
One important thing I really found missing from almost all the sessions was Architecture of Windows 7. I couldn’t find any of the session including even minor details of Windows 7 Architecture.
Overall the workshop was fantastic and am really thank full to Mahesh Mitkari (Pug lead) and rest of his PUG team; Seminar was much more informative and interesting than expected. (Hay guys there were no prizes, as was mentioned
). Thanks Guys look forward to see some more exciting seminar/workshops like this one Windows 7.

Sometimes it’s really that simple, isn’t it? I feel a little stupid for not thinking of this myself/earlier, though.
